Laurence began his career as a commercial lawyer with Clifford Turner in 1974 and went on secondment in Tokyo where he worked on Aircraft Financing transactions. Laurence joined Airbus Industrie as an inhouse lawyer in 1987 and became the VP Customer Finance. In 1994, he set up the Asset Management Team division responsible for all pre-owned aircraft transactions and was promoted to SVP position in 2001. In 2004, Laurence was given the responsibility for Airbus’ overall activities in China as President of Airbus China, a position he held for nine years. Laurence is based in Beijing and is a Barrister (Middle Temple) with a Law Degree from Bristol University, a "Conseil Juridique"" (Paris) and a Foreign Law Consultant (Japan).
